Our client is seeking an innovative Senior Chemical Engineer to drive advancements in their Research & Development department, located in Kimberley . This role is instrumental in exploring new chemical processes, materials, and technologies that will shape the future of the company. You will lead research projects, conduct feasibility studies, and contribute to the scale-up of novel concepts from the laboratory to pilot and potentially commercial stages. We are looking for a scientifically curious and technically adept engineer who thrives on innovation and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research projects focused on developing novel chemical processes, materials, or products.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments and pilot-scale trials to validate new concepts.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chemists, materials scientists, and manufacturing engineers.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and intellectual property opportunities.
- Contribute to the scale-up and technology transfer of successful R&D; projects.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related scientific field.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical research and development, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, catalysis, or materials science.
- Proven ability in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Experience with pilot plant operations and scale-up principles is highly desirable.
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills for Kimberley -based teams.
