As we scale across North America and internationally, we are strengthening our finance function to support manufacturing growth, operational excellence, and sound business decisions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Controller with strong manufacturing experience to own accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and manufacturing cost accounting. You will manage the full accounting cycle, work closely with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, operations, and senior leadership, and provide timely, meaningful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Accounting

- Own the full accounting cycle and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Review GL accounts, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations.
- Maintain accounting policies, documentation, and financial records.
- Support multi-entity, multi-currency, and consolidated reporting as we grow.

Manufacturing Cost Accounting

- Develop and maintain product-costing methodologies and standard costs.
- Oversee inventory valuation, WIP, finished goods, and COGS.
- Analyze material, labour, overhead, purchasing, and production variances.




- Partner with manufacturing and engineering to improve BOMs, routings, and labour allocations.
- Monitor cycle counts, physical inventories, obsolescence, and write-downs.
- Analyze production costs, yields, scrap, rework, and efficiency.
- Establish controls for purchasing, inventory, production, and capital equipment.
- Support make-versus-buy and other manufacturing financial analyses.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
- Provide financial insight for operational and strategic decisions.
- Partner with department leaders on cost visibility and budget accountability.
- Support working-capital management and expenditure planning.

Internal Controls and Process Improvement
- Design and maintain financial controls, approval processes, and segregation of duties.
- Identify control gaps and lead corrective actions.
- Standardize and automate accounting and reporting processes as we scale.
- Support ERP and accounting system implementation and optimization.

Audit, Tax and Compliance
- Lead annual audits as primary contact for external auditors.
- Support corporate tax, sales tax, government reporting, and regulatory compliance.




- Assist with government funding, grants, tax credits, and SR&ED; documentation.
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

Financial Leadership

- Act as a senior financial partner to the CFO and leadership team.
- Translate complex financial and operational information into clear recommendations.
- Build scalable financial practices while staying hands-on in day-to-day accounting.
- Support and mentor accounting team members as the function grows.

Qualifications

- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience.
- CPA designation.
- Proven experience with inventory, WIP, standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variances.
- Asset: experience in technology, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, semiconductors, or similar complex manufacturing.
- Asset: experience with government funding programs and SR&ED.;
- Asset: bilingualism in French and English.
