The Opportunity As a Factory IT/OT Specialist at Hitachi Energy’s Varennes location, you will provide onsite support for factory-owned and managed IT/OT assets. You will support office IT and shop floor IT/OT equipment that is not supported by Global OSS technicians, including kiosks, printers, conference and Teams rooms, vendor machines, CCTV and security systems, badging systems, and MES hardware scanners. You will also perform IT/OT cybersecurity operational activities, including first-response tasks, identifying critical assets, installing and configuring security patches, reporting abnormal OT system behaviour, and implementing security measures under the guidance of global cybersecurity teams and the factory process engineer. You will work with vendors to help ensure security patches and OT systems are properly configured and maintained. How You'll Make an Impact Provide desk-side support to end users, IT equipment, meeting-room software, and technology in shared collaboration areas. Provide onsite computer support for factory-owned or managed IT/OT assets. Support office IT and shop floor IT/OT assets not supported by Global OSS technicians, including kiosks, printers, Teams rooms, vendor machines, CCTV and security systems, badging systems, and MES hardware scanners. Perform IT/OT cybersecurity operational activities and first-response tasks, including investigating incidents and working with cybersecurity teams on containment and remediation. Identify critical factory assets that require monitoring and protection.



Install and configure security patches on critical assets, with additional assistance when required. Report abnormal OT system behaviour and raise alerts to incident response teams when security events are detected. Work with vendors and internal teams to maintain OT systems and implement security measures for business-managed assets. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada. Formal qualification or completed apprenticeship in information technology. Two years of qualified experience in IT support.

Experience with ServiceNow IT Enterprise Platform, Microsoft Office 365, Windows, iOS, and asset management tools; ITIL 4 and Lean Six Sigma certification are preferred. Proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently. Frequent communication with internal and external partners, customers, and stakeholders located outside Quebec. Knowledge of English, in addition to French, is required to fulfill the operational requirements of the role and ensure effective collaboration and client service.
