The Alberta
Court of Justice recognizes the importance of working collaboratively with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities, and have a working knowledge around the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action. There is an understanding regarding the importance of child and family involvement, connection, and collaboration to a large array of other cultures and communities. The TSIC Coordinator is a member of the Office of the Chief Justice within the Alberta Court of Justice and reports directly to the Therapeutic, Specialized & Indigenous Courts (TSIC) Manager, Alberta Court of Justice.
This position is responsible for providing multiple layers of support to the manager and Executive Legal Counsel, as it relates to Therapeutic, Specialized & Indigenous Courts. This position supports the TSIC team and is responsible for the handling of all administrative functions ensuring all work is carefully reviewed for quality assurance and accuracy. The incumbent in this position also builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders such as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
This position serves as liaison to ensure accurate and timely communication with the Judiciary, Executive Legal Counsel, and management team as required.
The position is also responsible for the scheduling of both in person and remote meetings and the production of minutes arising from the meetings. This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and organizing of special events as required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide executive and administrative support to leadership within the Therapeutic, Specialized and Indigenous Courts (TSIC) program.
- Coordinate meetings and committees, including scheduling, preparing materials, recording minutes, and supporting follow-up activities.
- Plan and support special projects, events, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Justice sector partners, and community organizations.
- Prepare, maintain, and track correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other administrative records to support program operations.
- Manage electronic and physical records, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and accessible.
- Provide administrative coordination and operational support to ensure the efficient delivery of TSIC initiatives and services.

- Administrative Support 4 - High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of related administrative experience Equivalencies will be considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
Qualifications - Class 5 Driver’s licence Knowledge, Skills & Assets - Strong verbal and written communication skills,
with the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities, respond to emerging needs, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual collaboration tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, and Webex.
- Experience building and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, including First Nations, Métis, Inuit and other Indigenous partners and organizations is considered an asset.
Notes
This is a Permanent, Full-Time position, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position can be in either Edmonton or Calgary. Furthermore, please note that you may be required to travel for work.
