Traffic Control Person (TCP)About the Position

We are looking for reliable, safety-focused, and professional Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) to join our team.

As a TCP, you will be responsible for safely directing and controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites, roadwork, lane closures, utility projects, and other work zones.

The ideal candidate is dependable, alert, comfortable working outdoors, and able to communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, coworkers, and site supervisors.

Responsibilities

- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through work zones
- Control traffic using approved hand signals, signs, and communication methods
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices
- Monitor traffic conditions and communicate hazards or changing conditions to the site supervisor
- Maintain a safe and organized work zone
- Assist with lane closures, traffic stoppages, and alternating traffic operations
- Follow traffic control plans and site-specific safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with construction crews and other traffic control personnel
- Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift
- Complete equipment checks and report damaged or missing equipment
- Follow all applicable workplace health and safety requirements

Qualifications

- Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification in British Columbia




- Previous traffic control experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and work-zone safety
- Ability to stand and work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset
- Strong communication and situational-awareness skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work day, night, weekend, and extended shifts when required
