This role includes elements of both behavioural intervention and respite services, supporting children and young adults with autism and/or complex medical or behavioural needs across several of ErinoakKids' services.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies for young children with autismAssist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, feeding, and mobilityAssist with planning, implementing and evaluating leisure activities for clientsFoster a protected, engaging, and supportive environment that promotes social and communication developmentProvide care and supervision in both therapeutic and respite settingsOperate transfer and mobility equipmentCollaborate with therapists, clinicians,



and other support staff to ensure consistent care practicesPrepare and cook meals for clients according to dietary guidelines outlined in plans of careOrganize and complete laundry services for client beds in Respite programMaintain accurate documentation and contribute to client progress reportsAssist Clinical Therapists with data collection and entry for clientsMaintain and support the in-centre by ensuring toys and materials are cleaned and organized on a daily basisQualificationsMust have graduated or be expected to graduate in 2026 from Child & Youth Worker (CYW) diploma, Developmental Support Worker (DSW), Social Service Worker (SSW), Personal Support Worker (PSW), Autism Behavioural Sciences (ABS) certificate or relevant education and/or experience; Experience working with children and/or young adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and/or complex medical needsExperience working with children and youth with challenging behaviorsExperience working with children and/or young adults with medical needs such as seizures, tracheostomies and feeding tubes; Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamCPR/First Aid certification and a clear vulnerable sector screening are requiredEnjoy working with children in a team atmosphere; Bilingualism inFrench and English is an assetAttn: Internal StaffStaff actively working in these roles may be prioritizedbased on your circumstances:Expression of Interest (EOI): Employees currently in this position who wish to be considered for a transfer (including a change in stream, site, or employment status) should select"Paste Resume"and clearlyoutlineyourrequested change in the text box provided.Position Change: Employeesapplying for change in position or a promotion, pleasesubmita cover letter and resume.We'recommitted to creating an accessible and inclusive candidate experience.
