Greet and welcome everyone to the library2. Provide proactive client-focused service by anticipating client needs and by ensuring the highest standards of client service are met to create a welcoming environment3. Maintains client relationships by responding to basic library reference help and documenting action4. Proactively prepares for customer inquiries by studying products, services and customer service processes5. Assists clients in signing materials in and out6. Show clients how to use technology throughout the library7. Assists with events and tours under the direction of a supervisor according to established standardized event/program guidelines8. Shelving, sorting, and processing materials9. Maintaining attractive, welcoming, and inviting library spaces (I.E., tidying and cleaning)10. Refer students to library resources to meet their needs11. Provide technical assistance with library equipment and technology12. Take payments for library fine and fees13. Provide assistance with tracking and updating library usage data14. Assist with client's lab/study room bookings15. Handling cash.16. Provide basic clerical supportQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCESpecific AccountabilitiesDutiesRequired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)1. Minimum six (6) months experience in a customer service environment2. Grade 12 with supplementary training or experience in technology3. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office4. Basic Internet5. Basic working knowledge of computers and related office equipment6. Effective oral communication skills including basic telephone and customer service experience7. Effective time management and organizational skills8. Knowledge of automated system software (client databases, inventory etc.)9. Handling cash and use of a digital cash register10.
