With a tradition of service spanning more than a century, TUCC plays a vital role in helping ministries adapt, grow, and serve their communities—offering strategic support, consulting services, capital loans, grants and awards, investment opportunities, property management services, and innovative ministry initiatives, such as its online learning platform CHURCHx.It is within this context that TUCC invites nominations and applications for the role ofExecutive Director, a position that will have an indelible impact on the future of the organization and the communities that it serves.Reporting to TUCC’s Board of Directors, theExecutive Directorserves as the organization’s lead administrator and the face of TUCC. They will provide strategic and operational leadership, oversee stewardship of financial and human resources, support effective governance, and guide the delivery of programs and services that enable communities of faith and partners to thrive. The Executive Director will lead a team of approximately 12 staff, advise and collaborate with the Board of Directors, and ensure operational excellence of the organization across its various initiatives.QualificationsAmong the qualifications being sought in candidates, the incoming leader must have a deep and abiding commitment to advancing reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all its forms and must believe, intrinsically, in the importance of leading with curiosity and welcoming ideas that can later be synthesized and turned into possibility.While all candidates are encouraged to apply and, in so doing, share how they see themselves adding value to the TUCC environment,



the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers of the candidates most likely to realize success in the role:Demonstrated capacity to provide theological reflection that informs and guides the organization’s vision, direction, and operations; Significant seniorleadership experience, with part of that experience preferably gained within a progressive, dynamic, and inclusive church-based environment; Demonstrated capacity for financial stewardship, including budgeting, oversight of investments, and/or management of loan or capital programs; Experience leadingand developing teams, fostering accountability, and building collaborative, mission-driven cultures; andStrong business acumen, with expertise in governance support, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and working with boards operating under policy governance models, andA theological degree or equivalent faith-based education, which would be considered an asset; a business degreeor equivalent academic training would also be considered an asset.The salary for the position will be approximately $120,000.00 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.This posting reflects a planned leadership transition within the organization.Land Acknowledgement and Equity StatementToronto United Church Council acknowledges that it gathers on the traditional territory of many Nations, including the Huron-Wendat, Petun, Seneca, the Mississaugas of the Credit, and Métis.
