Some French is required!ABOUT THE PROJECT:Our client is undertaking an initiative to improve the efficiency, reliability and maintainability of its financial and operational reporting processes.We are looking for an experienced consultant with particularly solid Excel and Power Query expertise who can assess and improve existing reporting tools, data sources and processes. The work will include optimizing complex Excel workbooks, improving data quality and management practices, automating reporting processes and reviewing and enhancing existing Power BI reports and dashboards.This is a hands-on role working with an existing reporting environment, with an emphasis on practical, maintainable improvements and knowledge transfer to the internal team.ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:As the Excel, Data Management & Power BI Consultant, you will:Review and assess existing Excel workbooks, reporting models and processesCorrect, simplify and document complex Excel formulas and calculationsImprove the structure, readability, controls and performance of large Excel workbooksImplement validation rules, integrity controls and appropriate maintenance practicesIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive and manual reporting activitiesReview data sources, structures and reporting data flowsIdentify and address inconsistencies, duplicate records, missing data and other data-quality issuesClean, standardize and structure data used for reportingRecommend practical data-quality controls, business rules and documentation standardsImprove the traceability of transformations and source dataCreate, correct and optimize Power Query queriesStructure and improve data extraction,



transformation and loading processesReduce manual intervention required during report refreshesReview existing Power BI semantic models, relationships, tables and measuresReview and optimize DAX measures as requiredAssess Power BI reports for accuracy, consistency, performance and usabilityImprove report design, navigation, indicators and visualizationsDocument solutions, data sources, transformations and controlsDevelop maintenance and refresh guides for internal usersProvide knowledge-transfer sessions and support the internal team in maintaining the solutions going forwardREQUIREMENTS:Must-have:5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting automation or a related fieldAdvanced Microsoft Excel expertise, including complex formulas, Power Query and Power PivotStrong hands-on Power Query experience, including data transformation and reporting automationHands-on Power BI experience, including data modelling, DAX, report design and performance optimizationExperience with data cleansing, standardization, validation and quality controlDemonstrated ability to assess existing processes and implement pragmatic, maintainable solutionsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication, documentation and knowledge-transfer skillsAbility to work professionally in FrenchAbility to work in a hybrid arrangement in Downtown TorontoNice-to-have:Experience with financial reporting, budgeting,
