Position Title: Early Childhood Educator's (two open positions)Reporting to: Director of Education, NIB Daycare Manager, & Assistant ManagerStatus: Full-timeStart date: September 14, 2026 - OngoingLocation: Neskonlith Indian Band, Switzmalph Salmon Arm, BCSalary Range: $29.87 per hourJob Summary:Reporting to and under the general direction of the Director of Education, NIB Daycare Manager, and Assistant Manager, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing direct care and development to the children of the Neskonlith Indian Band Switzmalph Daycare Center.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Neskonlith Indian Band policies and proceduresPlans, develops, implements and assesses developmentally appropriate activities in conjunction with the Center's philosophyProvides supervision and care of children in the Day Care CenterPerforms daily routines, including organizing physical activities, circle/art activities, nap time, diapering/toileting, personal hygiene, field trips, meal preparation and cleanupEncourages problem solving and individuality through age-appropriate activities and playPlans and implements activities that encourages listening and self expressionPlan, develop and implement activities and materials that facilitate Shuswap culture and language developmentPlan, develop and provide activities and experiences that build trust, independence and self esteemAssists in the enrolment and orientation of new children and parentsEnsures parents daily care instructions are met and followedAssists parents in obtaining services for specialized child needsInforms parents of plans and daily events and activitiesEnsures proper procedures are followed in administering medications and first aid,



including documentation and recordsUpdates children files, medical records, registrations and emergency cards as requiredTeaches and encourages children proper hygiene and sanitation practicesAttends to children's physical needs for diapering, toileting, nutrition and sleeping as soon as possibleEncourages and prepares health well balanced lunches, snacks and mealsPerforms housekeeping duties, including disinfecting and cleaning toys, mats, gates, equipment, kitchen, floors, and games dailyPerforms laundry services of sheets, blankets,, as requiredEncourages parent involvement in events and programsAssists in the arrival and departure of children, including communicating with the parentsAssists with fundraising activities for the CenterAnswers inquiries, provides information and forms as requiredMaintains the work area in a clean and professional mannerPerforms other related duties asRequired Qualifications:Grade 12 education or equivalentMinimum Early Childhood CertificateInfant/Toddler and Special Needs Certificates, an assetCurrent First Aid CertificateSatisfactory Criminal Records checkMedical checkFood Safe CertificatePrevious experience with First Nations culture and traditions, as assetDiplomacy,
