Metro Supply Chain is a 2026 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program, recognized for its strategic expertise, culture of innovation and commitment to its people and local communities.The Tax Analyst supports the company's tax function including compliance, tax provisions, indirect taxes, and audits.The role ensures accuracy and timeliness of tax reporting and acts asa keycontact for tax authorities and advisors.ResponsibilitiesPrepare or coordinate the preparation of corporate income tax returns (federal and provincial)Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and regulatory requirementsLiaise with external advisors for tax return preparation and reviewReview sales tax returns prepared by accounting teams and assist with periodic filingsReview and prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts related to indirect taxesCalculate instalment payments related to taxesPrepare journal entries and payment requestsProvide guidance to internal teams on indirect tax matters and ensure proper application of tax rulesParticipate in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisionsSupport financial close processes for tax-related itemsAnalyze variances and document tax positionsLead and manage tax audits (income tax and indirect taxes) from an internal standpointCoordinate data collection and documentation with internal stakeholdersAnalyze audit requests and develop supporting positionsAct as the primary contact with tax authorities and external advisorsIdentify and mitigate tax risks arising from audit activitiesPerform tax analysis related to transactions and business initiativesSupport business units on tax-related mattersContribute to the improvement of tax processes and internal controlsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in accountingor relevant fieldCPA In-Depth Tax Program - an asset5 years of relevant experienceMinimum 3 years in tax functionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal in French and English, and the ability to develop relationships at all levels in the organization.Why Join UsWork in an environment where safety is our first priorityThe chance to build a career with a growing companyMedical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your familyLife and disability insuranceWellness programs to support your family's well-beingA Retirement Savings Program with a company matchEmployee Appreciation DayCompany sponsored social eventsCommunity volunteeringWe arean equal opportunity employer committed to building and fostering a diverse workplace where people feel included and valued.
