We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our Shelburne residential lumber facility. The Production Manager assists and works closely with the Plant Manager on day-to-day production operations including production planning, production activities, and quality control. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful operations of the plant, leading a team of approximately 50 employees across three shifts within a unionized environment, with an additional 20 seasonal employees at our distribution centre.This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment and brings a strong commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles, safety, and people development.Based out of our Shelburne, Ontario facility, this role follows a Monday to Friday schedule with a 6:30 AM start to ensure continuity and follow-up on overnight shift operations. The Production Manager is also on call outside of regular hours and is responsible for responding to any emergencies, building security matters, or facility alarms as they arise.Key Responsibilities:Production & OperationsOversee all production activities including the preparation line (stacker), mill, treating, shipping, receiving, maintenance,



and quality controlSupport the Plant Manager with day-to-day management duties and production planningApprove production orders and interact frequently with procurement and planning groupsCollect, maintain, and analyze production data to drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologiesPost production transactions in the ERP systemActively participate in cycle counts and annual inventoryMonitor quality and workmanship to ensure quality control standards are metWork closely with various departments to optimize inventory and maximize recoveryParticipate in facility improvement projectsLabour ManagementPlan production schedules and coordinate with the Production Supervisor on labour requirements across three shiftsManage scheduling, attendance, and discipline within a unionized facilityCoach, train, and develop a multigenerational, culturally diverse workforceManage payroll transactions, employee relations, and performance managementHandle job postings, recruitment, and onboarding of current hiresEnsure plant guidelines and policies are consistently enforcedManage employee vacation requestsLiaise with the Ministry of Labour on various issues and requestsHealth, Safety & EnvironmentChampion a team-oriented safety culture across the facilityEnsure environmental and safety policies, quality standards,
