Job Summary and Requirements This posting

This posting will be used to fill 3 (three) auxiliary on call positions working 75hours bi-weekly in Yukon EMS.

It will establish a 3-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions within Yukon EMS

Who we are The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) teamdelivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work.

This opportunity Reporting to the Superintendent, Air Ambulance theCritical Care Flight Nursewill employ professional Critical Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital and inter-facility treatment and transportation to the general population. Evaluates the patient's clinical condition and performs detailed assessments in order to establish a treatment plan in support of optimal patient care. Works in environments where there is no medical support and where transport times routinely exceed four hours.

Important application and job requirements

Current Registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority

Critical Care Registered Nurse or Emergency Nurse certification or recent experience working in an Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or related High Accuity Unit.

Previous or current experience working in the pre-hospital transport environment will be considered an asset.

Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy

Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Strong understanding of working with various cultural backgrounds

TB Screening , Security clearance including vulnerable sector check, Valid class 4 driver's license and Current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association,

Job requirements This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

Shift work, including weekends and standby , wearing a uniform, and maintaining all conditions of employment.
