Salary Range: $40,000.00 To $55,000.00 AnnuallyPatene Building Supplies Limited is a distributor of drywall, steel framing components, insulation, acoustic ceilings, shingles and other building materials for the residential and commercial construction industries. We have thirteen (13) branch locations throughout Ontario & Manitoba to serve our customer base of contractors, builders and retail customers.We are currently seeking a career-minded individual for the position of Customer Service & Branch Operations for our St. Catharines Branch.This is a cross-functional position supporting both customer service and the day-to-day operations of the branch. Working closely with the Branch Manager and other members of the branch team, the successful candidate will assist customers, process orders and quotations, coordinate deliveries and support shipping, receiving and yard operations. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, working with customers and being involved in multiple areas of the business.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and strong rapport with customersReceive and process customer orders and respond to order inquiriesPrepare quotations, bids and estimates for customersProvide pricing, product availability and delivery schedule informationSuggest alternate products to meet customer needs and create awareness of new productsWork closely with the Branch Manager and outside sales team to support customer needs and branch objectivesCoordinate with the yard and delivery team to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on timeBranch OperationsWork closely with the Branch Manager to coordinate daily deliveries,



shipping and receiving activitiesMonitor completion of daily truck reports and required maintenance of forklifts and trucksAssist with ensuring the accuracy and securement of materials being loaded and unloadedVerify incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and qualityProblem solve missing documents, shipments and delivery issuesAssist the Branch Manager with the coordination of drivers, forklift operators and yard personnelHelp maintain a safe, clean and organized warehouse and yard for effective movement of productsPerform inventory counts as requiredEnsure required incident, accident and WSIB documentation is completed and forwarded to Health & SafetyParticipate in and assist with monthly safety meetingsAdhere to company Health & Safety policies and government regulations and assist the Branch Manager in maintaining a safe work environmentMaintain professional and courteous interactions with employees, customers and suppliersQualificationsCompletion of high school1–2 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, shipping and receiving, branch operations or a related role preferredGeneral knowledge of building supplies and their application is considered an assetExperience in the building materials industry is considered an assetStrong organizational, time management and prioritization skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracyExcellent communication, customer service and computer skillsAbility to balance customer service and operational prioritiesStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeThis position offers competitive wages, health, dental, life insurance and an RRSP plan upon completion of the applicable waiting periods.
