This position will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.M. to 4:30 p.M. through the school calendar, salary will be prorated over the full year (26 pay periods).Responsibilities:Provide medical health services to students at the Pelican Falls First Nations High SchoolAssess medical needs of students, determine treatment plans, provide follow up supportRefer complex needs to physician or other health professional(s)Administer medications, provide first aid, assist in emergency situations etc.Maintain/update on-site clinic and confidential student medical recordsWork in collaboration and maintain communication with other daytime nursing supportMaintain a protected, clean, welcoming and positive environment at all timesPrepare evaluations and summaries of students including recommendationsDevelop or assist in developing treatment plans for studentsWork closely with PFFNHS,



PFC and On-Call staff to support students who are "at risk" or "in crisis"Provide daily or weekly check-ins with students as requiredParticipate in team meetings as requiredLiaise with other organizations, partners and/or professionalsRespond to parent, teacher and or student inquiriesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Registered Nurse or Bachelor of Science in Nursing is mandatory; Must be in goodstanding with College of Nurses of OntarioCertified in CPR and First AidAbility to assess and provide health care needs to studentsKnowledge and understanding of Native culture, traditions and lifestylesExcellent leadership, motivation, and problem-solving skillsFluency in Oji-Cree, Cree or Ojibway is an assetStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work independentlyAble to work effectively and collaboratively with othersStrong communication skillsValid Class "G" Driver's LicenseSalary: $73,255 to $90,094All staff are compensated 13 weeks of vacation either with vacation days, monetary compensation or a combination of both.NNEC requires a Criminal Record Check and/or a Vulnerable Sector Check for all positions.
