update & improve the estimating softwareStay up-to-date with materials and labor costPass projects over to Project Mangers in detailed turnover sheetsAssist Project Coordinators with change ordersPiping take off ability is mandatory with sheet metal take off desirable but not mandatoryExperience, Education & QualificationsMinimum 4 years of experience in mechanical estimating or a combined estimating/project management roleProven experience with civil infrastructure or large-scale residential/commercial construction projects.Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be consideredExperience working on high-rise, institutional, or complex mechanical system projectsProficiency, Bluebeam, or other design/modeling softwareFamiliarity with reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and construction documentationRed Seal Plumbing, HVAC certification, or Computer InformationSystems considered an assetDiploma in Computer Information SystemsProficient in Trimble and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Autobid maintenance and building database for take-off based on mechanical specificationsExperience with quantity takeoffs, change order estimating, and labour/equipment costingSkills & ProficienciesSelf-motivatedThoughtful and confident decision-making and high ethical standardsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalismProblem-solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressureService-oriented approach in working with technical and non-technical stakeholders and different personality typesStrong attention to detail and high level of organizationReliable, dependable and professionalOPM is an equal opportunity employer.
