Operations Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs)Operations Department Full Time Scarborough, ON Hybrid $17.60 CAD per hourCEE Centre for Young Black Professionals (CEE) is dedicated to addressing economic issues affecting Black youth. As a rapidly growing B3 organization, CEE plays a critical role in lifting up each Black youth by providing opportunities and resources they deserve. Our vision is to help Black youth who face multiple barriers achieve financial stability for themselves and their families, helping to strengthen the communities in which they live. Our mission is to increase economic opportunities for Black youth living in Toronto’s priority neighborhoods, supporting them in the areas of employability, social enterprise and entrepreneurship. CEE works to ensure that our programming reaches and is accessible to youth who face multiple barriers, such as unemployment, underemployment, conflict with law, being young parents, poverty, and lack of secondary or post-secondary education. www.Ceetoronto.Org.Job DescriptionThe Operations Department at CEE plays a vital role in supporting organizational effectiveness, operational strategy, and system design. As part of the Operations team, the Operations Assistant contributes to creating a positive, welcoming, accessible, and community-driven environment that reflects CEE’s vision, mission, and values.Acting as a representative and ambassador of CEE, the Operations Assistant serves as a key first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including employees, youth participants, community members, partners, funders, and visitors. This role supports the day-to-day operations of CEE space by ensuring administrative efficiency, professional communication, and a high standard of client and community service.The Operations Assistant plays a multi-functional role in maintaining organized systems, supporting project coordination, assisting with events and programming logistics, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where all individuals feel welcomed, supported, and connected to CEE’s services and opportunities.Reports toOperations Manager, Senior Operations Officer & Events and Operations CoordinatorKey ResponsibilitiesProject Support (60%)Coordinate project schedules, meetings, and timelinesPrepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and action itemsMaintain organized project files, records,
and shared documentsTrack project deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasksSupport communication between team members, partners, and stakeholdersAssist with preparing reports, presentations, and project materialsUpdate project trackers, spreadsheets, and databases regularlyProvide administrative support for project activities, workshops, and eventsAssist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and procurement requestsMonitor project progress and elevate delays or issues when necessaryEnsure documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on timeSupport managers and project leads with day-to-day operational needsOffice Administration (30%)Hospitality Representative: Serve as the welcoming face of the organization, embodying the essence of hospitality in all interactions.Ensure CEE space is safe, tidy and presentable ensuring that all visitors and space users including CEE employees feel comfortable as the space is accessible and welcoming.Perform regular walkthroughs to identify and report maintenance issues; elevate facility needs where appropriate.Provide hospitality and logistical support for onsite meetings and special events.Assist with correspondence and distribute internal communications and external emails.Support in ordering and restock of office supplies; assist with management of the vendor and supplier list.Other (10%)Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager (OM) and/or Management Team in response to a rapidly changing environment.QualificationsA thorough understanding of challenges, needs, and realities of Black youth in Toronto’s priority neighborhoods.Knowledge of the impact of trauma, anti-Black racism, and social determinants of health and how they manifest in Black youth.Excellent administrative, documentation, and planning skills with the ability to organize, deliver, track and report on competing priorities simultaneously.Professional, clear, and respectful communication skills (oral,
