Position Summary The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following online (asynchronous) course during the Winter 2027 semester:

SW 202 – Critical Issues/Critical Thought

This course examines the foundations of critical thinking with application to social work issues in such areas as oppression, poverty, health, child welfare and violence.

The semester class period is from January 6, 2027 to April 28, 2027 with the final exam period running from April 15, 2027 to April 28, 2027.

Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

- Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline.
- Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
- Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
- Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students.
- Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Master of Social Work ( MSW ) ;
- Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above;
- Superior communications skills (both written and verbal);
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset.

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours This course will be taught online (asynchronous).
