Department: Inpatient MedicineInpatient Medicine is located on the top floor of the hospital (3rd floor) - Pods C and D. These units are often referred to as Pod C3 and D3. Most patients on this unit are admitted from the Emergency Department while others are transferred from the Critical Care Unit or Surgical Unit. Patients are admitted to Inpatient Medicine for treatment and/or monitoring of a medical condition and can expect a stay of 1 - 5 days.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/Knowledge:Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent requiredPersonal Support Worker Certificate, HealthCare Aide Certificate or completion of minimum second (2nd) semester in a recognized nursing program requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an assetSkills/Abilities:Excellent level of interpersonal skills requiredExcellent level of written and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to work as a collaborative member of the health team requiredAbility to work with minimal supervision requiredAbility to meet the physical demands required to provide care to acute/rehab patients requiredMust be a motivated, flexible and organized individual with patience,
