JTFSecurity is a licensed, insured and bonded BC-based security and protective-services organization. We provide professional security, event security, protective services and specialized operational support across British Columbia.

Our approach to security goes beyond simply filling positions. We look for capable professionals who can communicate, think, solve problems and represent both JTFSecurity and our clients to a high standard. Our field personnel are supported by 24/7 operational oversight while on assignment.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our Nanaimo Maritime Security team and looking for experienced security professionals for ongoing casual and part-time assignments.

These deployments primarily support passenger operations within a marine transportation environment. The work requires a calm, professional presence, strong situational awareness, sound judgement and the ability to communicate and de-escalate effectively.

Typical shifts are approximately 5:00 PM-2:00 AM , including evening, late-night and weekend work.

Pay: $21-25/hour, depending on assignment, qualifications and experience.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Previous professional security experience
- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Situational awareness and sound judgement
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Professional client and public relations
- Understanding of security and public-safety responsibilities
- Basic report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, punctuality and professionalism
- Reliable vehicle and transportation
- Smartphone with data while on shift
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods when required
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Advanced Security Training (AST) is considered an asset.
