peelers and graters to perform various food tasksWeigh and/or measure ingredients and portionsClean and sanitize kitchen as needed and according to the company cleaning standardsUsing manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodAnswering telephone and taking customer ordersWorking in Deli/Produce DepartmentProviding strong customer service when serving customersPromoting products and services that the Italian Centre Shop offersFollow company'sfood safety, kitchen cleaning and sanitation standardsOther duties as required.QualificationsHigh School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferredExperienceA minimum of one-year experience in a food service or catering environmentA minimum of one-year experience using a deli slicer (preferred)We are willing to train the right candidate, but most successful applicants have these skillsExcellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all timesWork independently with little direct supervisionHave a well-balanced concern for both task and peopleHave a genuine concern for needs of customersWorking conditionsPosition requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidaysPosition also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situationsCool temperatures when entering food coolersPhysical requirementsLong periods of standing and walking.Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.Manual and repetitive tasks.On occasion, you may be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs).
