We are looking for an experienced Floral Designer to join our growing business. This role's responsibilities include leading the creative vision and execution of floral designs in our shop, creating high-quality arrangements, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring the overall aesthetic standards of the shop.The ideal candidate possesses advanced floral design skills, a robust sense of creativity, and leadership abilities.Duties/Responsibilities:Create sophisticated and visually appealing floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, events, and everyday ordersDevelop unique and innovative floral designs that align with current trends and customer preferencesOversee the design and assembly of large-scale floral installations and custom ordersEnsure the highest quality standards are met in all floral creationsLead and mentor a team of junior floral designers, providing guidance and training on design techniques and best practicesAssign tasks and oversee the workflow to ensure efficiency and qualityFoster a collaborative and creative work environmentConsult with customers to understand their floral needs and preferencesProvide expert advice on floral selections, arrangement styles, and event planningHandle high-profile and custom orders, ensuring customer satisfactionMonitor and manage floral inventory, ensuring an adequate supply of fresh flowers and design materialsCollaborate with suppliers to source high-quality flowers and negotiate pricingOversee the processing and care of floral shipments to maintain freshness and qualityMaintain and enhance the visual appeal of the shop through creative displays and seasonal decorationsEnsure the shop is clean, organized, and welcoming to customersAssist with the creation and maintenance of promotional displays and marketing materialsMaintain accurate records of sales, orders,



and customer preferencesAssist with budgeting and financial planning related to floral design projectsParticipate in inventory counts and help manage stock levelsPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Extensive experience in floral design, preferably in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of floral design principles, flower varieties, and current trendsExcellent creative and artistic skills with attention to detailStrong leadership and mentoring abilitiesOutstanding customer service and communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyBasic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systemsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAvailable to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysEducation and Experience:A minimum of 5 years of experience in floral design, with demonstrated expertise in leading projects and managing a teamHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of timeAble to lift up to 40 pounds at timesAbout UsStong's Market is a locally owned, community focused grocery store.
