## Recreation Aide Part Time - Trillium CourtApply: LTC - Trillium Court - 550 Philip Place Kincardine, Ontario: Part time: Posted Today: R35852**Job Description****Key Responsibilities*** Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents, in collaboration with the Recreation Manager & Executive Director;* Assists with the maintenance of appropriate department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing individual participation, charting;* Maintains effective communication and valuable human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events;* Attends in-service education in order to keep informed of current trends in the total care of the elderly;* Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents' interest in mind;* Facilitating residents to scheduled and pre-arranged outings;* Assisting with assessment of individual resident activity levels;* Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities;* Assisting with Restorative Dining during meal services ;* Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents);* Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality,



and integrity as set out in Extendicare's Code of Conduct;* Complete other duties as assigned.**Qualifications*** Proof of successful completion of a post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or other related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution* or Proof of successful completion of a post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate granted in another jurisdiction that is equivalent to the diploma, degree or certificate* Skills and experience in a health care or similar setting* Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation, and evaluation for geriatric population especially those cognitively impaired is preferred* Experience with an older adult population an asset* Strong customer and resident service skills.* Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset* Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks* Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities* Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Activity Pro and Point Click Care* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.* Must provide proof of a 2 step TB test
