We are looking for Laborers to join our teamCopcan Civil, part of Norland Limited, is an award-winning civil construction company with offices on the Island in both Nanaimo and Victoria. Copcan has been in business since 1970, Copcan Civil has successfully completed projects across Vancouver Island and the BC Interior, including highways, bridge construction, underground utilities, demolition, marine infrastructure, private development, and municipal works.Copcan Civil is currently seeking experienced Civil Laborers to join our team in Victoria and Duncan (Vancouver Island). This role involves working on job sites that involves underground utility, civil, and construction projects across the area. Work locations may include Victoria, Duncan and surrounding communities. You will need to be able to get to locations that are not on the transit route.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform general labor duties on civil construction sites including digging, grading, raking, and shovelingAssist with installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)Support pipe crews with alignment, bedding, and backfillingLoad, unload, and move construction materials and equipmentOperate small tools and equipment (plate tampers, cut-off saws, jackhammers, etc.)Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow directions from supervisors, foremen, and lead handsAssist with traffic control and site safety setup as requiredParticipate in daily toolbox talks and adhere to all company safety policiesQualifications & RequirementsPrevious experience in civil construction or general labor (preferred but not required)Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, repetitive tasks,
