During your shift, you will typically meet with 3–5 individuals.Although you work one-on-one with the individuals you support, you are not alone. Outreach Support Mentors collaborate closely with other team members to ensure that the needs outlined in support plans are met and to empower individuals to achieve their goals.Please Note: This role will primarily involve supporting individuals within female residences. To best meet the needs and preferences of the people we support, preference will be given to female candidates. This is considered a bona fide occupational requirement (BFOR).Duties and ResponsibilitiesConnecting with community resources (food banks, clothing resources, etc.)Attending medical appointmentsManaging medication regimesGrocery shoppingLearning how to take the busBill payments and money managementSupporting individuals to acquire and maintain productive roles (employment, volunteering, programming, etc.)Accessing programmingRecreational opportunities (skating, swimming, sporting events, etc.)Group programming opportunitiesMeal preparation and cookingCleaning and maintaining the homeEmotional supportCrisis supportSkills and QualificationsHigh School Diploma (minimum)Some post-secondary courses in the social services field (preferred)2 years' experience working with adults with an intellectual disabilityKnowledge of disabilities, disorders,
