We are seeking a Protection & Controls Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) II to join our well-established team of engineers and designers.This role offers long-term workload stability, exposure to a diverse portfolio of utility projects, and the opportunity to take on increasing technical responsibility across all stages of substation project delivery.You will contribute to protection, control, and metering system designs for substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, supporting projects from early concept through construction and commissioning. This position is ideal for an engineer with several years of experience who is ready to grow technically, take ownership of design deliverables, and contribute to project execution within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform and coordinate the design of protection, control, and metering systems for electrical substations (12 kV to 500 kV) with limited supervisionSupport and gradually take ownership of key design deliverables, including:One-line diagrams and protection schematicsPanel layouts and interconnection diagramsProtection and control design criteria and philosophiesPrepare and review engineering documents, including specifications, reports, construction packages, and test plansAssist in developing outage staging plans and commissioning documentationPerform configuration support for protection relays and automation devicesReview vendor drawings and technical submissions to ensure alignment with project specifications and design intentParticipate in design reviews, Safety by Design sessions, and constructability assessmentsProvide engineering support during construction and commissioning, including responding to RFIs and participating in site visits and field reviewsParticipate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and inspections as requiredCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil/structural, electrical layout, telecom, etc.)
