Position Summary – Quality Assurance TechnicianThe Quality Assurance (QA) Technician supports the QA Manager in upholding the facility's food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, prerequisite programs, and BRC compliance. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, monitoring and verifying tasks, maintaining documentation, training team members, and participating in internal audits and sampling activities. The position also includes pre-operational inspections, data entry, and involvement in various quality projects as assigned by the QA Manager.Job DetailsLocation: 350 Belleville, BellevilleEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentWork Schedule: 40 hours per weekShift: 2 days start at 3am & 3 days start at 6amWorkdays: Monday through FridayBenefits eligibilityPension Plan: eligibility after 12 months of employmentCompensation rate: $26 -$30 CAD/hrKey ResponsibilitiesConduct environmental swabbing (ACC, ATP, and Listeria)Perform daily monitoring and verification to ensure HACCP system complianceObserve and assess employee task completion for accuracy and complianceMaintain and organize records of monitoring and verification activitiesProvide associate training as needed (deviations, preventive actions, updates)Approve products for shipment based on established QA protocolsCoordinate product sampling based on program and regulatory requirementsSample ingredients, review Certificates of Analysis (CofAs),



and authorize ingredients for useCollect water and air samples for testingVerify product labels for accuracy and complianceEnter and manage testing data in electronic spreadsheets and systemsCoordinate product holds and releases as neededOther duties as assignedQualifications & RequirementsPost-secondary diploma in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific field. Equivalent experience in food manufacturing quality assurance may be considered.1+ years of experience in a food manufacturing quality assurance role, preferably within the meat processing industry.Solid understanding of HACCP principles and regulatory standards related to meat processingDemonstrates exceptional attention to detail and the ability to rapidly acquire and apply new knowledge.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to generate reports and correspondenceStrong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work independentlyStrong sense of teamwork, leadership and ability to work with any functional group of individuals including senior managementExcellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with associates and external partnersFamiliarity with Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Must have reliable transportation.Working ConditionsEarly start times required (prior to production startup); occasional evening or night shifts (once per month)Cold working environmentRegular physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and occasional crouching or kneelingFrequent use of computer screens and reading of technical documentsFast-paced, performance-driven, and customer-focused work environmentThe is an existing vacancyWe are currently not using AIWe thank all applicants for their interest to this opportunity; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.#SSCBE
