Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.Position OverviewThe assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.In this role, you will:The work will consist of various project-related assignments to the design and operation of the gas system, such as:Design of natural gas facilities and pipelines including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selectionEngage various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of capital projectsPerform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies,



and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructureResearch and develop design standardsRecommend process improvements and ensure compliance with company and industry codes and standardsWhat it takes:Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with a focus on Mechanical Engineering (third or fourth-year students preferred)Enrolled in a Co-op programValid driver's license and current abstractOther QualificationsA passion for the energy industry and the utility worldExperience or knowledge with CAD applicationsExperience with interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systemsA knack for public speakingYou get your points and messages across with ease and respect so you can work harmoniously with a variety of peopleKnow the ins and outs of Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with report and memo writing in a corporate environmentAdditional InformationThis is a full-time temporary student co-op opportunity with an 8-month term starting in January 2027.Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse.
