Below are a few of the incredible perks and benefits you can expect to receive while working at Rise:Competitive compensation packageCommitment to support your continued professional developmentOpportunities to advance and grow in the firmHybrid workplace and flexible hoursCollaborative setting and open-door policy – easy access to Partners and ManagementSupported study and exam timeIn-house training programs4-day summer work weeks in July and AugustFlexible dress codePaid health & wellness daysSocial and community events held year roundAbout the RoleThe Tax Specialist plays an active role in the delivery of tax planning engagements, meeting expectations for budget, timeframe and quality.Your primary responsibilities will include:Preparing tax technical research including various tax correspondence and memos for estate planning, corporate reorganizations, CRA audits, and other tax transactionsCompleting complex tax planning calculations for corporate reorganizations and divestituresPreparing complex tax compliance, including tax returns and election formsProviding support for team members on tax related matters for all clientsOn an ongoing basis, identify opportunities for additional Rise services with existing clients and proactively move the opportunity forward within the firm as requiredRequired Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:Undergraduate degree in an accounting programDesignated CPACompleted Year 1 of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, or currently enrolled in Year 1 of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course is preferred3+ years of public practice experience, with a minimum of 1 in Canadian private company taxStrong tax compliance background with an understanding of the issues and challenges faced by small-to-medium sized businessesIndependent, highly motivated, and a self-starterMulti-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneouslyStrong communication skills (both written and verbal) – and commitment to maintaining an open, transparent dialogue with colleagues and clientsEffective relationship-builder – we want our clients and your direct reports to enjoy working with you!'One Team' mindset – openness to collaborate with all colleagues and bring positive energy to the teamAnnual Salary Range:$75,000 - $95,000Please note, only successful applicants will be contacted to set up an interview
