Position OverviewThe main purpose of the Red Seal Millwright is to be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment for the Ball Mill at the Sugar Zone Mine.Key Areas of Responsibility & AccountabilitySafetyEnsure safe work systems/procedures are always practised and adhered to ensuring duties are performed in a manner that minimises risk to self, employees, and contractors.Maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping at all times, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work setting.Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures.Company / LeadershipDisplay conduct which is aligned with company Core Values, Policies and Procedures.Initiate and provide input into company directives in collaboration with the Site Management team.Communicate department obligations and conditions to the leadership team, ensuring specific understanding and accountability.Behaviour / AttitudeSupport and follow all lawful instructions/directives from direct supervisor.Maintain a high level of professionalism and take responsibility for own conduct and behaviour in the workplace.Ensure good, clear lines of communication between all stakeholders, including the Site Management team, co-workers and contractorsKnowledge / Skills / DutiesReview and troubleshoot hydraulic systems through the use of drawings or schematicsMaintain and repair machinery, loading pockets,



dewatering pumps and main ventilation fansIdentify issues through preventive maintenance processes to determine future work requirementsUndertake pipe fitting, threaded, Victaulic, Hugger and HDPE applicationsMentor Apprentices at all stages through their apprenticeshipsAssist with familiarizing new employees and contractors to the equipment and surroundingsProvide input and/or suggestions into potential equipment improvementsCorrectly & thoroughly complete all required documentation and affix signature to work performedComplete work order requirements, report writing, 5 point cards etc.Perform rigging and hoisting as requiredPerform coupling and sheave alignment, straight edges/feeler gauges, dial indicators, laserUtilize bearing applications and installation, clearance adjustment and careUndertake all types of pump wet end overhauls and settingsPerform basic welding as needed, including oxygen/acetyleneUndertake proper oil sampling when required and take action accordinglyUndertake vibration analysis when required to – identify problems early of the PF curveTeamworkWork collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals – both within own department and site wideLeverage off and use the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems.Share gained experience and knowledge of work in progressAttend and participate constructively in daily line-ups, safety meetingsPlanning & OrganisationPrioritise and completes tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within expected timeframes.Proactively identify and address hazards before they arise as issues.Proactively identify Preventive Maintenance assignments work to be scheduledBe punctual to work and all required meetings.Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed
