Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant role responsible for assisting in the timely preparation of periodic financial statements, participating in the analysis of financial information, participating in the financial forecasting process, ensuring proper internal controls are adhered to, and participating in developing or enhancing accounting processes and policies.Location: 100 Citigate Drive, Ottawa, ONVacancy Type: ReplacementDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, set up and administer accounting systems and prepare financial informationPrepare financial analysis including financial statement, account & job cost analysisDevelop or enhance tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for use in managing day to day operationsDevelop and maintain reporting & internal control procedures (i.E. inventory counts, reconciliations, purchase order commitments, etc.)Support annual external audit (i.E. working papers, reconciliations, other support as requested)Assist in regular compliance matters as requiredMay coach and train other accountants or administrative clerksREQUIREMENTSKnowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. SAP would be an asset.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports,



statements and projections.Work requires willingness to work a adaptable schedule.CPA designation is preferred, and candidates in the final stages of their designation will be considered.WORKING CONDITIONSStandard office environment.Overtime hours may be required during month-end or year-end processing.COMPENSATION INFORMATIONThe expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000.
