Hydrovac OperatorBased out of High River, the Hydrovac Operator is responsible for performing activities relating to operation of Hydrovac Truck. They will also assist with labor duties in a safe, efficient and effective manner.Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:Operate Hydrovac Truck in residential, commercial and rural areasOperates assigned unit in a safe, qualified and effective manner, carrying out assigned dutiesResponsible for basic maintenance of the Hydrovac Truck to maintain safe and optimal operation. Will keep assigned Unit organized, clean and presentableResponsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and diggingSet up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydro-vac operationManages the scheduling of work through requests from Site Supervisors and ForemenPrepare and coordinate safety tool box talks and complete pre-job hazard assessmentsPerform and maintains a daily log book as per Commercial Motor Vehicle ActLiaises with dispatch to determine daily work assignment(s)Complete all required paperwork properly and within set time linesComply with Shawne and OH&S regulationsMust be able to work independently and demonstrate a strong customer service focusGeneral Labour duties and other activities at construction site as requiredOut of town travel will occasionally be requiredCommunicates effectively (verbally and in writing)Teamwork and collaboration (work cooperatively and collaboratively with others)RequirementsMust possess a valid class 3 with Airbrakes, Class 1 is preferred, with a recent and clean abstractMinimum 3 years of recent hydro-vac, and related trucking experienceGood verbal and written communication skillsMust Have the following tickets, skills, abilities and other requirementCSTS, Air Breaks, Ground Disturbance Level 1 and First AidKnowledge of vehicle and equipment safetyStrong work ethicAbility to work safely in a fast-paced environmentSelf-directed and self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision and as part of a teamConstruction Safety Certifications including The Following Are Considered AssetsGround Disturbance CertificationConfined Space Awareness/RescueFall ArrestWHMISThis position has been deemed safety sensitive; successful applicants may be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment.We would like to thank all applicants for their submissions, however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
