You'll work directly with clients, accountants, and partners in a supportive environment where your experience, ideas, and contributions are valued.Bookkeeping & AccountingCompleting bookkeeping for a variety of small business and agricultural clientsRecording and categorizing day-to-day financial transactionsCompleting bank and credit card reconciliationsMaintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable recordsReviewing general ledger accounts for accuracy and completenessIdentifying discrepancies and following up on unusual or missing transactionsPreparing and posting adjusting journal entries as requiredMaintaining organized and accurate accounting recordsAssisting with bookkeeping clean-up and catch-up projectsPreparing client bookkeeping files for year-end accountingProcessing payroll for clientsCalculating and recording payroll deductions and benefitsAssisting with Records of Employment and T4 preparationPreparing and filing GST returnsAssisting with other government filings and remittances as requiredMonitoring filing and payment deadlines to help ensure client complianceClient RelationsCommunicating directly with clients to obtain missing information and documentationFollowing up with clients regarding outstanding bookkeeping itemsAsking clear and relevant questions to efficiently resolve bookkeeping issuesResponding to routine client bookkeeping and payroll questionsHelping clients understand their bookkeeping records and processesProviding friendly, professional, and timely client serviceDeveloping strong working relationships with our clientsTeamwork & OrganizationWorking closely with accountants and partners to ensure bookkeeping files are complete and accurateCommunicating questions or concerns before spending significant time resolving unfamiliar issuesManaging multiple client files and recurring deadlinesKeeping accurate records of work completed and items requiring follow-upTaking responsibility for assigned tasks and following them through to completionParticipating in the development and improvement of bookkeeping processes and internal systemsSupporting other team members during busy periodsTaking on additional bookkeeping and administrative tasks as requiredThink you've got what it takes to be our Part-Time Bookkeeper?
