What will I be doing?

The Accounting & Finance Specialist will have primary responsibility for administration, calculation, and Balance Sheet reconciliation. The role will also be responsible for bank reconciliations and will support other day-to-day financial operations as required.

The successful candidate will be highly comfortable working with numbers, Excel, POS reports, banking information, and large volumes of transactional data. Strong attention to detail and the ability to independently identify and resolve discrepancies are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Bank & Financial Reconciliations

- Prepare regular bank reconciliations for assigned bank accounts.
- Reconcile bank activity against the company’s financial system and supporting records.
- Identify outstanding cheques, deposits in transit, bank charges, transfers, and other reconciling items.
- Investigate discrepancies and follow up on unusual or outstanding transactions.
- Prepare or coordinate required adjusting entries.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation for completed reconciliations.
- Monitor long-outstanding reconciling items and ensure they are appropriately resolved.
- Assist with credit card, cash, clearing account, and other financial reconciliations as required.
- Support month-end financial close activities.

Financial Operations

- Assist with journal entries and financial reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with reporting, audits, and information requests.




- Work closely with the Finance Team and other departments.
- Follow established financial procedures and internal controls.
- Help develop, document, and improve Finance department processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive administrative and reconciliation processes.
- Perform other financial and administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in finance, bookkeeping, banking, or financial administration is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and working with large datasets.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage and meet multiple recurring deadlines.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English; written and verbal.
- Experience within a hotel, resort, restaurant, or multi-outlet hospitality environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with financial systems and POS systems is considered an asset.

What Success Looks Like The Financial Operations Administrator will provide reliable ownership of key recurring financial processes across the organization. Success in this position means gratuities are calculated and distributed accurately and on time, bank and other financial accounts are consistently reconciled,



discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly, and supporting records are organized and complete. The successful candidate will also look for opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate these processes while gradually taking on additional responsibilities within the Finance department.
