Coastal Research, Education, and Advocacy Network (CREAN) is dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth through impactful research, education, and advocacy initiatives. Our community-centered approach fosters stronger connections and strives to improve the lives of youth, families, and neighborhoods by working closely with residents and local leaders to advocate for positive change.
Position Summary
This is dual-role intern who handles everyday office operations while directly supporting the creation, formatting, and submission of business proposals (RFPs). This is a government funded internship providing a stipend of $15/hour. The start date is October 1 2026 and ends February 28 2027.
Eligibility To participate in a Work Experience Opportunities Grant placement, you must:
- Receive or qualify for BC income or disability assistance, including hardship assistance or the Persons with Persistent Multiple Barriers to Employment benefit; or
- Receive or qualify for income assistance through an eligible Treaty First Nation or First Nation Administering Authority.
- Be legally allowed to work in British Columbia.
Duties
- Manage daily administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and maintaining organized records
- Assist with preparing, proofreading, and formatting proposals,
reports, and correspondence
- Support the coordination of meetings, appointments, and community events
- Utilize Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, etc) to produce documents and presentations
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries via phone or email
Experience
- Previous clerical or administrative experience in an office setting is preferred
- Strong writing skills. Grant writing experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Workspace
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Demonstrated customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and support experience
Pay: $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 9.5 – 15.0 per week
