Aluminum Welder/Fabricator-Marine Refit, Repair & Recent Vessel Construction | Campbell River, BC

Ocean Pacific Marine is growing, and we are looking for experienced Aluminum Welder/Fabricators to join our team in Campbell River, BC.

Operating since 1985, Ocean Pacific Marine is one of Northern Vancouver Island’s most comprehensive marine facilities. Our full-service boatyard supports a diverse range of commercial, government and recreational vessels, with projects ranging from vessel repairs and major refits to modifications and new vessel construction.

Our customers include local commercial operators and recreational boaters as well as the Government of Canada, Department of National Defence, Canadian Coast Guard and RCMP.

As our workload continues to grow across both refit/repair and new-build projects, we are expanding our welding and fabrication team.

The Position

This is a full-time, year-round, Monday-to-Friday position working from our Campbell River boatyard.

As an Aluminum Welder/Fabricator, you will work on a wide variety of marine projects, including:

- Aluminum vessel construction and structural fabrication
- Major vessel refits and modifications
- Hull, deck and superstructure repairs
- Structural alterations and upgrades
- Fabrication and installation of marine components
- Fitting, welding and finishing aluminum assemblies
- Reading and working from drawings, specifications and fabrication details
- Working alongside our mechanical, electrical and marine systems teams to complete complex vessel projects

Projects and challenges change regularly, providing the opportunity to apply your trade across new construction, refit and repair work.

What We're Looking For





We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Strong aluminum welding and fabrication experience
- Experience in marine, shipbuilding, boatbuilding or heavy fabrication environments
- Ability to fit and fabricate from drawings
- Strong MIG welding skills with aluminum
- Red Seal Welder and/or Fabricator certification preferred
- Current CWB 47.2 welding qualifications considered an asset
- Strong attention to quality and workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary trades team

While trade certification is preferred, experienced aluminum fabricators without formal certification are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated skill and relevant experience will be considered.
