Eye Recommend supports independent optometry business owners across Canada through training, business services, supplier programs, events, digital tools, and member-focused resources. Our goal is to help independent practices operate more efficiently, make better decisions, and grow stronger businesses.

We are looking for an Applications & Integrations Developer to help us support, maintain, and improve our business applications, integrations, reporting tools, and digital platforms.

This role is suited for someone with practical experience in business applications, Salesforce, data analysis, reporting, or software development who enjoys solving technical problems, building solutions, and working collaboratively with others.

About the Role The Applications & Integrations Developer will support the business systems that power Eye Recommend's digital environment, with a primary focus on Salesforce platform ownership, application support, data and reporting, and technical enhancements.

You will work directly with internal departments to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, manage Salesforce configurations and integrations, and deliver improvements to existing workflows, reports, and applications.

You will also support our reporting environment, including Power BI, and collaborate with our Technology team and external development partners on application enhancements, automation, recent features, and digital platform initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working with data, and building practical solutions. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your work, learning new technologies, and contributing to both day-to-day operations and development projects.

What you will own

Salesforce & business application support

- Own day-to-day Salesforce support and administration, including user access, fields, permissions, Flows, reports, dashboards and data quality.
- Work directly with departmental teams to investigate issues, understand requests and deliver Salesforce configuration, workflow and reporting enhancements.
- Support and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce, the CMS, reporting tools and other applications; coordinate more complex changes with developers or vendors.

Integrations, data & reporting

- Investigate failed data syncs, mapping issues and discrepancies across connected systems; support data validation, reconciliation and reliable reporting.
- Work with our ReportingHub partner on support and enhancements, and oversee the accuracy and quality of reports and dashboards created using Power BI.




- Translate reporting needs into useful outputs and use tools such as SQL, scripting or automation to analyze data and improve processes.

Development, automation & enhancements

- Build smaller full-stack enhancements across frontend and backend applications, using JavaScript, APIs, Python, SQL, or similar technologies where appropriate.
- Develop scripts, automations, and application improvements to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve system functionality.
- Collaborate with our Software Developers and other Technology team members on application enhancements, new features, and new platform initiatives.
- Help troubleshoot technical issues, test changes, validate releases and document solutions so knowledge is shared across the team.

Vendor & team collaboration

- Work directly with existing development and technology partners on assigned support issues, enhancements and technical work.
- Clarify requirements, coordinate dependencies, test vendor-delivered changes and follow issues through to resolution.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues, and take ownership of work while knowing when to involve other team members or vendors.

What We're Looking For

- Hands-on experience with Salesforce administration or support, including configuration, troubleshooting, reports, and dashboards.
- Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, APIs, JSON, and system integrations.
- Experience with frontend or backend development, including building or modifying web applications, features, or APIs.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages for development, scripting, or automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand business needs, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate with internal teams and external partners, and take ownership of assigned work.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, contribute to development projects, and share knowledge with the team.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Power BI, Salesforce Flows, or Salesforce Administrator certification.




- Familiarity with full-stack technologies such as React, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar tools.
- Exposure to Azure, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Git, Azure DevOps, or headless CMS platforms.
- Experience working with external development partners or supporting production business applications.

- Managing Salesforce support requests, configurations, reporting, and enhancements for internal departments.
- Improving data accuracy, reporting, and integrations across our business applications.
- Developing smaller enhancements, features, and automations that improve existing systems and workflows.
- Collaborating with our Technology team and external development partners on new features and platform improvements.
- Building technical knowledge and contributing to the ongoing development and reliability of our digital environment.
