Architectural Technologist – Interior Design & Construction Drawings

About Phase2Design

Phase2Design is an interior design firm specializing in residential and commercial projects. We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our team on an open-contract basis.

The primary focus of this position is to take approved 3D design renderings and concepts and translate them into accurate, detailed working drawings and complete construction drawing sets for contractors, trades, consultants, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Convert approved 3D renderings and design concepts into detailed working drawings and construction sets

Prepare floor plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, finish plans, elevations, sections, and construction details

Develop detailed drawings for millwork, feature walls, ceilings, flooring, kitchens, washrooms, and other interior elements

Conduct site visits to take accurate site measurements and document existing conditions

Verify site dimensions and ensure measurements are accurately reflected in the drawings

Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and other consultant drawings where required

Ensure drawings accurately reflect the approved design intent

Review drawings for dimensions, accuracy, constructability, and consistency

Incorporate revisions and consultant or contractor comments into drawing packages

Maintain Phase2Design drawing standards and documentation

Work closely with our interior design and 3D visualization team





Manage multiple projects and drawing packages while meeting project deadlines

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design Technology, or a related field

Strong experience preparing construction and working drawing packages

Excellent AutoCAD skills

Robust understanding of construction methods, materials, millwork, interior detailing, and drawing standards

Ability to interpret 3D renderings and translate design intent into technically accurate drawings

Experience with commercial and/or residential interior projects

Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code is an asset

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

Ability to work independently and coordinate with the Phase2Design team

Must be available to travel to project sites for site measurements and field verification

Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are preference

Contract & Compensation

This position is offered as an open contract at $5,000 per month.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Phase2Design team and will be responsible for managing assigned drawing packages, attending required site visits, taking and verifying measurements, and meeting agreed project deadlines.
