The mission of the Labrador Friendship Centre is to endeavor to provide the best possible services to enrich the lives of Indigenous Peoples of Labrador through the provision and implementation of social, cultural, health, educational, employment, and developmental initiatives.
The Labrador Friendship Centre is currently seeking Casual Assisted Living Workers to assist with the personal care, health and well-being of Level 1 and 2 residents under the Assisted Living Program. Under the supervision of the Assisted Living Manager, the Assisted Living Workers will carry out the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook the day-to-day meals for the residents. This will include breakfast, dinner, supper, and snacks.
Do the laundry for the residents or assist residents with laundry responsibilities as needed.
Provide general cleaning duties for the residential unit on a daily, weekly, and annual basis.
Assist residents with hygiene and personal care on a daily basis.
Carry out duties which provide for the comfort and safety of the residents.
Accompany residents to medical appointments as needed.
Maintain the inventory for the kitchen supplies.
Do security checks of the building.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized Personal Care Attendant Program, completion of High School, some post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with clients with multiple and complex needs.
Experience working with clients who require assistance with day-to-day care.
Experience caring for seniors.
Possess positive interpersonal skills.
Must provide a certificate of conduct.
Successful applicant will be required to submit certificate of conduct from the RCMP including vulnerable sector check.
Assets:
Possess a valid class five driver’s license.
Knowledge Indigenous language.
Knowledge of Labrador’s Indigenous cultures.
Indigenous or of Indigenous Ancestry.

Based on the established rate for the program

12-hour shifts - this is a casual position
