The ideal candidate will take on the positionof trusted liaison between principals, managers, and clients in preparing Compilations,Review and Audit engagements and assume leadership roles on complex files. TheSenior Accountant will report directly to their respective managers andpartners, however, as part of the Senior Accounting team, this individual willbe provided the opportunity to mentor our junior and intermediate-levelaccountants.Perfect for someone who understandsthe value of customer service, this individual will enjoy working alongside themanagers to support our large range of clients and be equally as invested inwho our clients are as people, as well as their business and the 'numbers'.
Ahigh level of accountability and initiative will be key to succeed in thisrole, as well as the ability to navigate and adapt to a fast-paced professionalservices environment.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPreparationand review of Compilation, Review, and Audit engagementsPreparation and review of working paper files for incometax returns for personal, corporate and trust returnsAssume leadership roles on complex engagementsAnalyzing complex financial reports and recordsMaking recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves,assets and expendituresPerforming variance analyses and preparing account reconciliationsEnsuring timely follow-up on notices of assessmentAssistingwith financial and strategic planning for businesses, income tax planning,and estate planningAssist principals and managers with managing a portfolioof clients, ensuring their needs are met and that relationships andaccounts grow and developProvide support to team members in related tasks andguidance to junior staff as requiredProvide mentorship to junior and intermediate-levelaccounting staffConductingany and all other duties assignedQualificationsEducation & Experience:Undergraduatedegree in a relevant field (i.E., B.Com., B.BA., etc.)CA or CPA designation, or designation nearcompletion2+ Years' experience in a public practice environmentStrong technical expertise in assurance, accounting, andtaxComprehensive experience in compilation and reviewpreparationExperience leading and supervising staff is an assetSkills & Knowledge:Knowledge ofrelevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practicesKnowledge and experience in accounting software such asCaseWare, Profile,
