This is a contract position until June 26, 2027, with a possibility of extension to a permanent role.

The Before and After Program (BAP) Coordinator provides leadership and operational oversight for YMCA Before and After School Programs delivered in partnership with the South Shore Regional Centre for Education. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple licensed offsite programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, inclusive, and engaging experiences for children and families while maintaining compliance with all applicable provincial legislation, regulations, licensing requirements, and YMCA standards.

The BAP Coordinator oversees staffing, scheduling, enrollment, program quality, and overall site operations to ensure consistent service delivery across all assigned locations. The coordinator works collaboratively with school administrators, families, community partners, and YMCA staff to foster positive relationships and support the successful operation of programs.

In addition, the BAP Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the Childminding Program located within the WellTide Health Hub in Cookville. This includes ensuring the provision of safe, developmentally appropriate childminding services for children whose caregivers are accessing health and wellness services within the facility.

The BAP Coordinator demonstrates professionalism, maturity, sound judgment, and strong leadership when working with children, families, staff, and community partners in educational and community settings. They promote inclusive practices, cultural responsiveness, and a welcoming environment for all participants while upholding the YMCA Mission, Vision, Values, Code of Conduct, Personnel Policies,



and Child Safeguarding Standards. Through effective leadership, mentorship, and operational management, the coordinator supports staff development and contributes to the overall success and growth of YMCA childcare services.

Key Areas of Responsibility

- Operational oversight of multiple Before and After School Program sites.
- Oversight and administration of the WellTide Health Hub Child Minding Program.
- Staff supervision, coaching, scheduling, recruitment, and performance management.
- Provide direct program coverage as required to address staffing shortages, maintain legislated staffing ratios, and ensure uninterrupted program operations.
- Conduct regular site visits and maintain an active presence within programs to support staff, monitor program quality, and respond to operational needs.
- Compliance with provincial childcare legislation, BAP Standards, YMCA policies, and risk management standards.
- Program quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Family engagement and customer service.
- Partnership development with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Health, safety, child protection, and emergency preparedness.
- Leadership in creating inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive environments.
- Other duties as required due to operational needs.

Pay: $28.18-$35.40 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
