Job Summary

Friends Cafe, located in NW Calgary, is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic team member who enjoys working with people and takes pride in serving quality food and coffee.

As a Café Team Member, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for every customer while preparing specialty beverages, fresh food, and our daily baked goods, including our muffins. This is a hands-on role where every day is different, with opportunities to learn and develop skills across all areas of café operations.

We are looking for someone who is available to work 3-4 days per week, including Fridays and weekends.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, and other menu items to café standards.
- Bake fresh muffins and assist with preparing baked goods and light meals.
- Prepare sandwiches, soups, and other food items with care and consistency.




- Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
- Be available to work weekends and occasional weekday shifts.

Qualifications
- Previous café, bakery, or food service experience is an asset but not required.
- An interest in baking and food preparation is highly valued.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Basic math skills and confidence handling cash.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and mornings.

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
