Embark on an enriching co-op internship as a Student Estimator at Bird Construction in Ottawa, Ontario. Engage with real projects and learn from industry leaders in a supportive workplace.

This 4 or 8-month co-op position starts in January 2027 and is tailored for students in Construction Management or Civil Engineering programs. You will apply your academic knowledge to practical estimating tasks, gain insight into bid proposals, and work closely with experienced estimators to sharpen your skills. You’ll gain valuable exposure to the estimating process and industry technology.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review and understand project scopes and specifications
• Conduct material and labor take-offs for estimating




• Prepare detailed cost estimates using estimating software
• Assist in organizing bid proposals and related documents
• Collaborate with project managers on proposal accuracy

Requirements:
• Current enrollment in a relevant degree program
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better
• Robust organizational and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a agile work environment
• Legal authorization for employment at Bird
