Weekend Cashier & Store Assistant (Dog Grooming Opportunity)

Location: Pets Foodland – 7425 Vedder Road, Unit 2, Chilliwack, BC

Position Type: Part-Time (Weekends)

Hours:

- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Wage: BC Minimum Wage ($18.00/hr)

About the Role

Pets Foodland is looking for a reliable, energetic, and animal-loving Weekend Cashier & Store Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will handle retail front-of-house duties, keep the shop clean, assist with self-serve dog wash stations, and support daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Customer Service & Cash Register: Greet customers, operate the POS system, handle cash/card payments, and assist shoppers.
- Store Upkeep & Cleaning: Keep retail aisles clean, sweep/mop floors, and maintain a safe, tidy environment.
- Dog Wash Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the self-serve dog wash station after client use.
- Laundry & Restocking: Wash, fold,



and restock towels; assist with restocking food and supply shelves.
- Pet Care Services & Grooming Learning: Perform nail clipping (or learn how) and take advantage of hands-on training opportunities to learn dog grooming techniques.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Genuine love for animals and comfort working around dogs and cats.
- Eagerness to learn dog grooming techniques and nail clipping.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
- Physical ability to lift pet food bags and stand during shifts.
- Punctual, reliable, and available to work both Saturday and Sunday hours.
- Prior retail experience is a plus, but passion and willingness to learn matter most!
