The Mini Tie Gang General Labourer will primarily be engaged in the installation of track ties throughout territories maintained by PNR RailWorks Inc. When not installing ties, the General Labourer may be responsible for various other Track Maintenance activities, as requiredPrimary/Essential Responsibilities and DutiesEmbrace our safety culture and adhering to industry and company policies and proceduresRepair and/or replace track components as needed, such as ties, plates, spikes, etc.Observes conditions of track, track beds, and track right-of-way to detect, report and repair problems or defectsResponsibly operates company vehicles and/or equipment and ensures all daily maintenance and inspections of the units are completedPerforms special duties as assigned by the Track Foreman or delegatePerforms any administrative duties related to proper documentation as per PNR Quality Management SystemAble to appreciate time sensitive duties, plan and execute accurately to achieve daily goals and production in a safe manner according to industry standards.Other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Skills and Qualifications1 year related experience in construction of general labourer role is preferredAbility to understand and efficiently carry out instructions with limited supervisionKnowledge of the occupational hazards regulations and safety precautions of the work being performed.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsWorks outdoors and able to be exposed to all weather conditions including extreme hot and cold temperaturesFrequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds on uneven terrainExposed to loud noise.Exposed to live track/trains and high voltage.Ability to work rotating shiftsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamAbility to maintain concentration and mental alertness in a variety of situationsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsCompany OverviewThis job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
