This compensation is not negotiable as it reflects the current budget.Details about extended benefits and paid time off are available at the bottom of this posting.ReportingReports to the Development and Communications DirectorSupervises Marketing Coordinator (Seasonal)ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications (70%)Manage and implement marketing communication plans, reports, and budgetsEnsure the tone, voice, and aesthetic of all public-facing Out On Screen materials are on brandWrite and design print and digital assets, e.G. brochures, flyers, business cards, annual reports, partnerships reports, impact reports, etc.Collaborate with VQFF and OIS staff on the creation of program-specific branding materials, e.G. newsletters, merchandise, slideshow templates, etc.Support media relations efforts, including writing press releases and coordinating the media teamMaintain, update and optimize the Out On Screen website experience and contentMaintain positive brand reputation and manage public inquiries via social media channels, website, and e-mailLead the strategy and production of key promotional assets for VQFF, including the Festival Guide, Festival Creative, and websiteEngage past and new audience members for VQFF and OIS, with a focus on growing our audienceLead the creation of effective digital content, including videos, newsletters, website, social media, press releases, advertisementsPlan and activate outreach activities to engage participants in VQFF programmingWrite and proofread marketing copy for films, events, and advertisementsManage and grow advertising sales with external partnersManagement (20%)Collaborate with the Development and Communications Director, Programming, and other departments to plan and manage marketing activitiesMeasure and monitor the success of marketing and communications initiatives, using ticket sales data, campaign performance metrics and analyticsSupport and supervise the seasonal Marketing Coordinator and marketing volunteersManage marketing and communications projects such as advertising and media campaigns, print production, brand assets and advertising salesManage and collaborate with key external contacts, including designers, web developers,
photographers, publicists and media teamsEnsure all marketing communications materials follow accessibility best practices and are developed using an anti-oppression frameworkDevelopment (10%)Build and maintain relationships with new and existing community partnersCreate the annual partnerships reportPrepare, present, and fulfill sponsorship benefitsMaintain and expand media relationships, including in-kind media sponsorsPrepare donor and sponsor-related communications, including email fundraising campaignsSupport donor engagement and fundraising campaigns via digital channelsQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong English language written and verbal communication skills (additional languages considered an asset)Proficiency with marketing and communications tools, including WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Lightroom, and Illustrator), Meta Ads, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Google Ads, Buffer, Mailchimp, VimeoProficiency with project management tools, including or similar to Clickup, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.Graphic design and content creation skillsKnowledge of industry best practices, trends, and user expectationsProject management to meet hard deadlinesAble to apply anti-racist, anti-oppressive principles in marketing and communicationsMedia analysis skills are an asset, particularly around histories and representations of gender, race, & sexualityTraining and Experience2+ years of marketing and communications experience in a similar role, preferably in the arts sector or a nonprofit settingAssessing and reporting on marketing communications metricsCopywriting experience, ideally in an arts or nonprofit settingManagement and supervisory experience is an assetExperience with accessibility practices in marketing and communicationsExperience reviewing data and reports from websites and social media channels, and making recommendations to optimize contentOut On Screen recognizes the value of lived experience and transferable skills. all staff are required to be available for 10 of the 11 daysEvening and weekend work is reflected in Out On Screen’s banked hour system; staff can take time in lieu to ensure a balanced work week with supervisor approvalPhysical WorkspaceHybrid work-from-home format, with some in-person office days required each monthOur office is located in Chinatown:Hot-desking via booking on SlackElevators up to the unit2 single-stall enclosed all gender washrooms on the same floor as our officeAll doors are unpowered and a minimum of 30” wideOur office is scent-reduced, but communal spaces are notA communicable disease plan is in place and is available upon requestSecure bike parking is available on siteDog-friendly office (with an affectionate weimaraner-in-residence)Vacation/Time OffThree weeks paid vacation, with some limitations on vacation surrounding the festivalPaid office closure at the end of the year (e.G.
