The Atlantic Wellness Community Centre is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing free counselling and support to youth and young adults (ages 12-25) who struggle with mental illness and mental health concerns.

Position Description

The Clinical Services Manager, is responsible for supervising the clinical employees at Atlantic Wellness, as well as the Community Engagement Liaison, providing direction, support scheduling and other tasks within a supervisory capacity.

Scope The Clinical Services Manager will be a full time position based on funding. This position will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services. The Clinical Services Manager will lead the day to day clinical activities and supervise the clinical team.

Team Lead:

- Regularly review clinical processes, outcomes, and service delivery to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services.
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and direct supervision to the clinical team, including clinical consultation, workload coordination, case assignment, scheduling and coverage, performance support, and implementation of clinical standards.
- Monitor staff workload, scheduling and coverage and caseload distribution to support appropriate capacity, client access, service quality, and continuity of care.
- Conduct regular one-on-one supervision with direct reports and participate in performance evaluations, staff development, and professional development planning.
- Address routine performance and attendance concerns in accordance with organizational policies, escalating significant or unresolved matters to the Director of Clinical Services as appropriate.
- Serve as the first point of clinical escalation for staff, parents, caregivers, and client support networks regarding service-related questions, concerns, and processes. Attempt resolution where appropriate, document concerns, and promptly escalate matters involving clinical risk,



safety, professional conduct, significant complaints, or other issues requiring Director involvement.
- Support the triage and response to day-to-day clinical questions and concerns, involving the Director of Clinical Services as appropriate.
- Review treatment plans and client files, conduct regular file audits, monitor compliance with clinical documentation standards, and provide feedback to staff regarding documentation and clinical practice. Identify significant gaps or concerns and bring them to the Director of Clinical Services.
- Monitor the effectiveness of counselling programs and interventions, including client progress toward identified goals, and provide recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services regarding service delivery and clinical practice.
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff and interns, including coordination of clinical training, expectations, and integration into the clinical team.
- Support the recruitment and selection of clinical staff and participate as a second interviewer for prospective interns within the Clinical Pathways Program.
- Liaise with community partners, medical professionals, schools, and other support services to facilitate integrated care pathways, continuity of care, referrals, case coordination, and appropriate client supports. Participate in case conferences as required.
- Provide oversight and support to the Community Engagement Liaison, including guidance on role development, implementation of the workplan, and delivery of assigned services.
- Provide temporary clinical coverage or direct client care when required to maintain continuity of service during staff transitions, absences,



or changes in client assignment.
- Ensure clinical staff compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, documentation requirements, and applicable professional practice expectations.
- Oversee appropriate staff use of Jane AI Scribe in accordance with organizational procedures, privacy requirements, documentation standards, and clinical expectations.
- Maintain skilled registration/membership and good standing with applicable professional and regulatory bodies, including CCPA where applicable.
- Represent Atlantic Wellness in relevant professional settings and prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or other professional development opportunities as required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

- Represent AWCC at community events.
- Participate in fundraising events.
- Contribute to the development of informative and supportive content for digital platforms, and newsletters, offering valuable insights and tips for clients, families, and community partners
- Attend stakeholder meetings to share essential front line data and stories, as needed.
- Other tasks as necessary

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

- A Master's degree in the field of Counselling, Psychology, Education (in Counselling), Social Work, or a related social service discipline is required.
- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with youth and young adults.
- Current membership and in good standing with a national association in accordance with their certification (ex: LCT-C (minimum) and CCC).
- A current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
- Openness to various types of personalities and backgrounds.
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Pay: $70,228.00-$105,342.00 per year
