Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, reliable, self-motivated, and capable of taking a part from drawing through setup, machining, inspection, and finished product.

We are a growing jobbing and production machine shop with a strong backlog into 2027, offering a variety of work ranging from small, precision components to large oilfield parts. This position is well suited to an experienced machinist who enjoys a mix of one-off, low-volume, and production work.

Hours; Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Overtime: Available as required

Wages: Based on experience

Responsbilities

- Set up and operate CNC live-tool lathes independently.
- Take parts from an engineering drawing through to a finished product.
- Set up and machine both one-off and higher-volume production parts.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Program using GibbsCAM, and perform program edits and adjustments as required.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
- Work with GD&T; requirements and tolerances.
- Operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently while meeting quality and production requirements.
- Perform tooling changes, routine machine maintenance, and daily housekeeping.




- Maintain an organized work area in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
- Identify and report manufacturing or quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work independently while collaborating with other team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of CNC lathe setup experience required.
- Registered Machinist/Journeyperson certification or equivalent practical machining experience.
- Strong CNC setup and machining skills.
- Experience with live-tool lathes required.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T; knowledge.
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred; Okuma control experience is considered an asset.
- GibbsCAM experience preferred.
- 3-axis or 4-axis milling experience is considered an asset.
- CMM experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with 5S and/or lean manufacturing is an asset.
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proactive, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable operating overhead cranes.
- Reliable transportation.

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
