What to Expect

At Tesla Toronto Automation, we design, build, and service custom, highly automated, high-volume manufacturing machinery to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We are seeking an Apprentice Machinist for day shift positions.

Shift: 7:00AM - 4:00PM; Monday-Thursday & 7:00AM - 3:00PM; Friday (with occasional overtime as needed).

What You'll Do

- Machine parts to drawing specifications using manual equipment
- Prove out manufacturing processes on the floor with machinists and peers
- Collaborate with peers to provide input on design for manufacturability
- Machine complex components to tight tolerances under tight deadlines
- Use inspection and measurement tools to validate work
- Document machining processes and results as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement projects for the shop and Tesla

What You'll Bring

- Basic & Intermediate Apprentice training from a qualified college
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T;
- Proficient in using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Skilled with basic shop tools and machines (manual mill, lathe, drill press)
- Positive attitude and passion for prototyping and machining
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude

Expected Compensation

- R&D; Machinist I - $26.40 - $39.60/hour
