About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead ground-up construction, major renovations, and re-imaging projects for Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) locations and high-volume fuel stops across Ontario. In this role, you will oversee project lifecycles from pre-construction and site plan approvals through final municipal sign-offs and handover, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with Ontario building, public health, and technical safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Execution: Manage ground-up builds, structural remodels, drive-thru layout integrations, commercial kitchen installs, and fuel canopy/pump additions across Ontario sites.
- Pre-Construction & Permitting: Coordinate site plans, architectural/engineering drawings, municipal zoning approvals, site plan control agreements, and conservation authority clearances (e.g., TRCA).
- Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight: Hire, manage, and evaluate General Contractors, specialized TSSA-certified Petroleum Mechanics (PM1/PM2/PM3), kitchen equipment vendors, and trade contractors.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Track job costs, manage scope changes, process CCDC contracts and progress draw applications under theOntario Construction Act, and maintain project timelines to meet target opening dates.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with theOntario Building Code (OBC), TSSA Liquid Fuels Handling Code, local Public Health Unit regulations (O. Reg. 493/17), NFPA 96 grease extraction systems, and theOccupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Stakeholder Communication:



Provide regular status updates to executive leadership, brand representatives, franchisees, municipal inspectors, and site operations teams.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience in Canada, specifically managing QSR/restaurant builds, convenience stores, or commercial fuel facilities in Ontario.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial kitchen MEP systems, grease interceptors, HVAC/make-up air units, drive-thru lane design, petroleum storage tanks (UST/AST), fuel piping, and canopy structures.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep familiarity with TSSA fuels safety regulations, Ontario Public Health kitchen inspections, Ontario Fire Code, and local municipal permitting processes.
- Software & Contract Proficiency: Experience reading architectural/engineering drawings, utilizing project software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera), and administering CCDC standard contracts.
- Certifications (Preferred): PMP certification, Gold Seal Certification (GSC), OSHA/Ontario Health & Safety training (Working at Heights, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness), or a relevant provincial contractor license.
- Travel: Valid G Driver’s License and willingness to travel to job sites across the region as needed (up to 50%).
